It is springtime here in Tennessee. We have been pulling together to get the yard back the way it is supposed to be. The yard has filled in, the geraniums are blooming. The azaleas are planted. We have been spreading mulch for days filling in the front flower bed. Of course Paul's prize fig tree is about 18 inches tall now.
We have been spraying trying to beat the insects to the plums and peaches rapidly forming on our trees.
The tomatoes have blooms already, the potatoes are about 14 inches high. Our oregano has taken off and is hogging the entire garden bed.

My flowers are blooming attracting the bees.....
Making the back deck the ideal place to be, either reading or having dinner.

Kasey had to be at work at 3am on Sunday so Jennifer offered to babysit. She and Cassidy had a great time painting their toenails and watching little mermaid.

Dinner Everyone?

Crock Pots are wonderful things. It is so nice to know that when you come home from softball or tutoring or whatever after school that dinner is done. Whether it is pot roast, fajitas or chicken and mushrooms it is nice to know you don't have to decide and cook after you get home. Of course the kids like them on their dish night so they don't have to wash a lot. We have gone through four crock pots in the last few years just wearing them out.

It's Mother's Day!

Yesterday was Mother's Day. Jamie, Lynn, TJ, Cassidy and Kasey all came by after church. Paul made steak sandwiches with fried onions on them and we had a quiet day. Cassidy found cattipillars and ladybugs, of course bringing them to us each to see before putting them on uncle TJ's arm.

Cassidy painted me a flower pot with a plant in it, and the big kids gave me an Olive Garden gift certificate, Yum. Rebecca got me flowers from church for having the most kids. Jennie and Timmy hand drew me cards.

Matthew and Timmy had a birthday party in the afternoon for the boy next door at the Gray Fossil Site and had a great time. They dug up fossils and tour the site. The cake had a red panda on it which was the first fossil they found at that site.

Jamie and Lynn went back to work on putting up their tongue and grove ceiling in, they got the wood for the ceiling and floor in this week.

Hope everyone else had a good mothers day, a quiet and uneventful one.

Ready, Aim. Fire.

After celebrating Mother's Day with me, Tj decided to go have some fun with one of his friends - Daniel Baker- target shooting. Fortunately he is very good and only targets were injured.
(Although he says that Daniel is even better shot)
